We've been working with Hygge Property (the same dedicated crew that helped us deliver Nightingale Ballarat) on a beautiful little project in Daylesford: an eco village of 30 homes, homes in landscape, homes in the sun.
Every one of these houses faces north, every home is designed for passive heating and cooling, and every home has been designed using considered local materials.
Recognising the need for a diverse range of housing, The Village Daylesford in Middleton Field will provide carbon neutral, fossil fuel free, sustainable homes. Developed on the principle that strong communities are just as important as strong design, The Village Daylesford has been thoughtfully designed to encourage interaction and connection between residents through central shared garden areas, enabling residents to meet and produce and share locally grown food.
Each home equipped with solar and water tanks, will use sustainable and locally sourced materials, maximising thermal, water and energy efficiency with low environmental impact. Consideration will be given to stormwater catchment and reuse, community-scale waste treatment, flora and fauna conservation, and revegetation.
We acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the land upon which Nightingale Ballarat stands. We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture.
