Hygge Property are an aspirational development crew from Ballarat bringing considered and sustainable urban living to regional Victoria. They care deeply about place, want to make a difference and leave behind legacy projects. We worked with them to deliver a home base that spoke to their values.
The design of the office follows a ‘build less, give more’ approach. Locally sourced and natural materials prevail in the palette, enabling a healthier employee environment. Many of the fixtures and fittings, such as the raw brass door hardware and tapware, and custom mild steel lighting fixtures, are reflective of this approach. Materials are robust, recycled, and locally sourced wherever possible, including windows and joinery made in Ballarat.
With zero gas, the office is powered by solar and 100% GreenPower and housed in the Nightingale Ballarat building which achieves an 8+ Star NatHERS rating.
We acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the land upon which Nightingale Ballarat stands. We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture.
